Along the way, you’ll visit picturesque fishing lakes, discover the birthplace of Hungary’s oil industry, and relax beneath the towering conifers of Budafapuszta Arboretum<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Muraszemenye and Lake Mar\u00f3c \u2013 A Waterside Beginning<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Leaving Muraszemenye<\/strong>, the route heads towards the foothills of the Zala Hills.<\/p>\n

Your first major stop is the beautiful Lake Mar\u00f3c<\/strong>, nestled among the rolling hills. This peaceful anglers’ paradise is the perfect place to unwind before tackling the hillier sections of the route.<\/p>\n

Lipseszentadorj\u00e1n and B\u00e1zakerettye \u2013 The Heart of Hungary’s Oil Country<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Following scenic roads lined with pine forests, you arrive in Lipseszentadorj\u00e1n<\/strong> before continuing to the historic village of B\u00e1zakerettye<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Often regarded as the birthplace of Hungary’s oil industry, the village still reflects its prosperous past through its well-kept streets and distinctive architecture. During the summer months, the local thermal bath offers a refreshing break for cyclists.<\/p>\n

Lake Kistolm\u00e1cs \u2013 A Forest Retreat<\/strong><\/h3>\n

From B\u00e1zakerettye<\/strong>, enjoy a scenic descent through the forest to the crystal-clear Lake Kistolm\u00e1cs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Relax on the lakeshore, listen to the charming Cs\u00f6m\u00f6d\u00e9r State Forest Railway<\/strong> as it passes nearby, or treat yourself to a traditional Hungarian l\u00e1ngos<\/em>. The highlight of the tour is the magnificent Budafapuszta Arboretum<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Its impressive Douglas firs, giant sequoias and other remarkable tree species create an unforgettable atmosphere throughout the year. From here, the route continues towards Szentmargitfalva<\/strong>, where spectacular views open across the Mura Valley<\/strong>. On exceptionally clear days, you may even catch a glimpse of the distant Alps<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
