Mura Rafting Water Tour Association<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Mura Rafting Water Tour Association<\/strong> was founded in 2014<\/strong>, but my connection with the Mura River<\/strong> began much earlier.<\/p>\n

As a child, I was fascinated by the river. Back then, it was not easy to reach because of its border location, and I often envied the border guards who had the privilege of enjoying its beauty whenever they wished. As time passed, access became easier, and we were finally able to fish, swim and spend time along its banks.<\/p>\n

Countless summer days were spent drifting downstream on homemade rafts, paddling for kilometres through one of Hungary’s most beautiful natural landscapes. It was here that I learned to swim, and over the years the Mura became as much a part of my life as Lake Balaton<\/strong> is for many Hungarians. Some of my happiest childhood memories were made on this remarkable river.<\/p>\n

In 2013<\/strong>, I successfully completed the Water Tour Guide Training<\/strong> organised by the Drava Association<\/strong>. One year later, together with several founding members, I established the Mura Rafting Water Tour Association.<\/p>\n

To ensure the highest level of safety for our guests, I also completed the professional Water Rescue Training<\/strong> organised by the Hungarian Water Rescue Service<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Over the years, I have built strong friendships with many people who share the same passion for the river. Through them I have discovered even more of the Mura’s unique character. Among them is a team of traditional gold panners<\/strong>, who continue the centuries-old craft of gold washing\u2014a living tradition that strengthens our connection with the river and its history.<\/p>\n

Thanks to several successful grant projects, our association has established a Traditional Crafts Demonstration House<\/strong>, where visitors can discover the historic crafts of the Mura region, including pottery<\/strong>, basket weaving<\/strong>, and the ancient art of gold panning<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Above all, however, I simply love paddling and spending as much time as possible on the river. It is not only my hobby\u2014it is a way of life.<\/p>\n
